CLOTHING AND TEXTILE COMPETITIVENESS IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMME
This programme aims to improve the competitiveness in the South African clothing and textile industry as it has to compete against international competitors in the international- and the domestic markets. It is an investment cost-sharing grant for local and foreign entities.
Entities at cluster level could qualify for 75% of the project costs. The grant is limited to a cumulative ceiling of R25million over the 5 year period of the project.
Entities at company level could qualify for 36% of the costs and the grant is then limited to a ceiling of R2,5million over the 5 year period of the project.
The focus areas of the programme are as follows:
- Training, labour relations and employee wellness programmes;
- Product related supply chain integration;
- Industrial engineering services;
- Competitiveness improvement interventions;
- World class manufacturing principles; and
- Bottom-line business processes.
